I have a old zebco real great shape I think it was my dads when he was a youngester don't know what era it is from. It has a marble that you would use as your drag and brake. It may be from the 40s the marble is plastic

Hi.
I think the marble was supposed to be used to trap the line & stopping it going into the closed front to prevent tangles,one of my old Reels had a rubber pear shaped weight which you could also use to practice casting.
I don't know anything about Zebco's even though I saw them in the Herter's,Cabelas & other catalogues back in the 80s& early 90s.
