what rod and reel for trout.

I need to get a new trout rod and reel. I use open faced spinning reels and i fish small creeks for trout. What do you guys use or what do you suggest?

It always depends on your budget man. Get the best you can afford.

i use a 5ft Abu Garcia ultra light stealth combo, i got it super cheap on sale for $30 and i love it, it has a 7 bearing reel and a IM8 rod, i use it for pan fish and trout but i have pulled in some 1lb to 2lb catfish and bass.

I like a 5'6"-6' UL spin rod myself. Something rated for 2-6lb line. I usually put a Shimano 1500 reel-model dependant on Budget". They make a few models that will sell for under $40.00 that are smooth and dependable. I custom build my own rods, so I set them up with a little longer rear grip than what generally comes from the factory. It helps with my wrist fatigue.
