Vintage Fishing Rods, reels, and lures

Hello all. I have just received a large amount an Vintage rods, reels, and lures from my step-grandfather, and I was wondering if some one with a good amount of knowledge could possibly help me learn the history and facts about some of the items I have. They include several Johnson Century model 100b reels, several old bait caster reels, which I'm not quite sure of the make, and several old rods including a J.C. Higgens fiberglass rod and a very old South Bend rod. Any information would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Fishinkid91, welcome to the forum I am happy you joined us and hope you will enjoy it here.

You will probably need more than that in order to search the history of them. Like serial numbers, manufacturing dates etc. Photos perhaps would also help.

I always like to go on this kind of 'detective-work' so if you could provide the above I will "get to work" on it.

their was mostly very old fishing rods and reels

Hi FishinKid91,Welcome to the site,the J C Higgins,Southbend Rods were popular years ago,also were the Johnson Reels,however I don'know their value as said before the models,numbers are unknown.
