no pat. # it just says japan on rod base, so i guess it cant be to old lol

Many American companies had their products in the 50's and 60's made in Japan, this I believe this is one of them. This is my opinion I have seen reels made by Sears as well as Mongomery Ward that look the same as yours. You can find any Japaneese made Michells as well as Pflugers they use a different name but the product looks the same. The Best Vintage Japaneese reel maker Is Compact they make a decent product. And believe it or not some look a like models made in Japan are worth more because there are less of them.

Not sure what it is but it looks like it is in pretty good condition. Keep working on figuring out what it is might be worth something if now in the future.
