I've been fishing lake trout for over 10 years religously. After a few years I started discovering tactics that work and now i catch them quite consistantl untill this year. It seems the deep adirondack lake i fish has turned off. I mark lakers on the bottom in 50-70 ft but morning noon or night using tactics and lures that always work aren't producing and even drifting and jiggin white tube jigs and dead smelt across the holes which usually works when trolling doesnt isn't even producing???? Anyboyd have any suggestions? They start feeding at night? Cowbells, flatfish, yozuris, rapalas all sizes nothing works whether Im in thermocline or on bottom. Please help!!!!!

OK. This might sound stupid. But. Have a look at the moon phases. Perhaps this can help. http://www.fishsniffer.com/moonphase/

Also, wash your hands. Crazily enough fish can smell (or at least sense) when humans have had their hands on the bait if i.e. your hands touched a cigarette or something.
