cute i wonder though, where is the hook in this 'snake'? the fish can 'eat' from the tail and figure out it is not a snake, and let go. no?

Ya, there is only one hook. the hook is located in the head. It is there baised on the fact that bass and other preditory fish strike at the head to kill the snake. chances of it missing and biteing the tale are still possable but the combonation of instinct and the artificial sent of the snake(artificial sent that requires the snake to be refrigerated when not in use to retain foarm and sent)will most likely cause the fish to strike again.
yep, i did my homework!

Read some reports here that some have not had much success with this snake lure, I watched the Doug Hannon video and I know of a much cheaper almost free method of catching big bass while simulating the snake's action, ..... I live on a nice sized lake in Florida and I catch a lot of bass on good ole bacon I buy the thicker sliced bacon or a slab and slice off a chunk about 3/8 of an inch wide the full length of the slab I then slice it again so I have a long piece 3/8 x 3/8 and hook it on the line with a very small split shot or none depending upon whether I want it to sink or not but with short jerks it looks and act just like a living worm or snake would.

One thing I forgot to mention about the bacon look for some that has a substantial rind on it as it is tougher and is hard for the panfish that may attack it to tear off the hook as many times they will go for the tail, besides it's much cheaper than well trimmed premium bacon. It works for panfish also even on a bobber as it gives off an oil slick and scent and has salt which all fish like. For panfish just use a small hook and just a little piece that they can engulf. Attached is a pic of a few bass a friend caught from my pier.
