How do I remove rust from hooks on vintage fishing lures? Thanks!

That's a very thorough 'removal', Nickledimed

If it is for collectors purposes, Dispatch1313, just leave the rust on. By taking it off you make the valueless. If for other purposes you can try to use very fine sandpaper.

I would throw them away too. If the point is still sharp I would fish with them anyway. It would be and istinct hit most likely and I don't think the fish would know the differnt. until too late. As far as sharpening the hooks.

you can use toothpaste,a tooth brush and water to take it off. I just did it and it worked great so try that. It loosens up the rust and the rest u can just rubb off with your finger.
