I was fishing in a resevior that is stocked with rainbows. I was fishing a gold Kastmaster while soaking Powerbait on a second rod. I was catching fish regularly on the Kastmaster so I wasn't paying attention to the baited rod much. Anyway this lack of attention ended up leaving little Powerbait balls floating a few yards from my boat by midmorning. After they had been there for a while I heard a splash and noticed one of the bait balls had been replaced by ripples... a few seconds later the second went, then in the following minutes the remaining two. I quickly reeled in my bait and rigged it to float but ,of course, that didn't work. Has anyone ever caught trout (or anything else) while floating Powerbait. Makes me want to toss trout chews all over the lake just to watch the show.

I had this experience myself at lake camanche. I spoke to the marina expert and he stated that this is how most of the trophy trout are landed in their lake. I have always sent it to the bottom myself but we did get some surface strikes Most people here just drift the boat by the dam floating chartruse power bait. I usually bass fish but this is a good way to take a lunch break.
