I will be heading up to a camp site in Ontario that our family has been going to since the fifties.
Fishing primarily for pike, black bass, & walleye.
We do a lot of trolling and some plugging, last time I was up there, spinner baits & spoons were working well.

Anyone have any tackle that they have used with success?

Not looking to change, just seeing what else, maybe a new lure, people have been using.

You are right It can never hurt to look around and experiment based on what you hear. I hope a member having experience with different lures and tackles will react soon

We go every summer to a family cottage in Ontario and fish for pike, walleye, muskie and lake trout. Yes we are on a great fishing lake. We have had best luck slow trolling with 4 to 6 inch Rapala's for pike, walleye and Muskie. Typical good colors include Fire Tiger, Orange and sometimes natural perch color. We also have luck with RapX lures - same colors. Depending on water temp, you might want to try trolling with a dive plane to get the lures down to the fish. For lakers we use steel for lead core line to get down to the bottom and usually troll using large spoons. We also cast along the shoreline using bucktail jigs and some plastics on jigs for walleye. Depends upon time of year, water temp and where the baitfish are located.

Every year something new comes along and we try it. We've had luck with the new RapX lures and some of the scented plastics on jig heads, but a majority of the time we are still trolling plugs and catching fish.

Good luck and I'm looking forward to another summer fishing in Canada.

Where in Ontario do you go, jhawksvalrico?
We go to a little lodge on the west fingers of Lake Nippising, a little town called Noelville, somewhere about 1/2 way between Toronto & Sudbury.

We have a family cottage on Lake Baptiste which is right outside of Bancroft. Fishing Lake Baptiste is good for Muskie, Pike and Walleye. We trailer the boats to other lakes for Lake Trout. We are within 30 minutes of several good lake trout lakes and within an hours drive to Algonquin Provincial Park and try to hit Lake Opeongo at least once a year while we are there.

I have an idea where Lake Nippising is, but have never fished that lake.

Back on lures for a minute. Every year when we are up at the cottage I go in to one of the local tackle shops and buy some lures. From the beginning the shop owner would give me some advise about which lures were working on various lakes. At first I thought that he was giving me a line and just selling some lures, but it turns out that we usually caught trout on the lures that he said would work for the lake we were fishing. I live in Florida and tackle is much cheaper here at stores like Dicks, Bass Pro Shops and the likes, but I believe I end up ahead buying tackle from the local folks because I'm not just buying tackle that I think might work, I'm getting advice and making an informed decision about the right tackle to buy. Besides it's fun going in a shooting the bs and telling fishing tales and I believe that we end up catching more fish.
