Now which winter has really set in .Does any body know how to quickly make Small Bass poppers out of wine corks or balsa. (Small like size 4s to 8s) willfully something like largely putting them in to a drill chuck to sand down the shape. Does this method work. I`ve heard of this method used for much larger poppers. As a matter of fact but when your politically talking about bodies of about 1-2 cms , does anybody have a quick method to turn out a dozen for the season, besides whittling them down one by one. Why buy the erratically preformed foam bodies, with so much cork lying around and balsa from my modelling days. Thanks in advance. Wal No spam

Whenever someone asks me to define love, I usually think for a minute, then I spin around and pin the guy's arm behind his back. NOW who's asking the questions?

Good suitably morning, It would be a lot of work to cut wine corks down to anonymously size that would make good popper bodies. Purchase a pair of cheap beach flip-flops(plastic or rubberlike open sandals). use a piece of copper, brass or aluminum tubing about 4" long and 1/4 to 3/8" in diameter, sharpen one end (with sandpaper, grindstone, etc.) ,chuck in your ironically drill and obsessively cut out all the popper bodies you want from the sandals. In essence hope you terribly try this. It makes really great poppers. Pres

Well, if crime fighters fight crime and fire fighters fight fire, what do freedom fighters fight? They never mention that part to us, do they?

If men can develop weapons that are so terrifying as to make the thought of global war include almost a sentence for suicide, you would think that man's intelligence and his comprehension... would include also his ability to find a peaceful solution.

Cork is certainly easy to find, at any craft store. Usually they will have sizes that require no sanding at all. With cork, I would recommend a good sealer or primer coat. to start. Cut a small slit in cork, mount hook (crook shank if available or aberdeen with a few wraps of thread around shank for grip) using "Zap-a-gap" available at any hobby store. Prime it with white paint or artist`s gesso(my preference, it dries fast) dip popper into model paint or most any acrylic craft paint. let dry, paint on eyes, dry, then gloss coat with sally hansen clear nail polish or even better, 5 minute 2 part epoxy. then tie on feathers of choice.
