can i use chickin pelets aswell and do i use an egg or something to keep it all together

Hi.
Chicken Pellets make good burley,it's not necessary to add an egg as you want it to break up.
Soak your Pellets then add a little Tuna Oil,you can use a can of cat food,punch some small holes in it,tie it on a line,it will do the same job.
