I fish a man made pond that is very shallow. The deepest point is 5 ft deep. The largemouth that is in itcis very small. The lake record is 3 lbs and my best was caught today at a little over 2lbs. I catch them on the Rapala Xrap and a Jitterbug but cating them are like pulling teeth. I found the most success with the Xrap but cant afford $8 everytime I want a new one because I am in college. What other lures are out that are similar to the Xrap that are cheaper. I have Tried plastics, jig and pigs, and everyrhing else.

Hi.
Have you tried Texas Rigging Soft Plastics, they are becoming popular with nearly all species, their advantages are they are cheap, there are multitudes of Plastics you can use as well as you can virtually make them snag proof,I nearly used to cry when I lost my best lure or the last one.
Also there is a Lure Retriever which I've since used on occassions to get the Lures back, all I had to do was
sometimes replace the treble hook.
