Here is a very easy pattern for Blue Gills.
Hook Size: #16 or #18 nymph hook. Materials: One piece of red yarn 3/4" in length.
Tying Instructions: Tie onto hook using the standard overhand knot.
Name of Fly: "GG`s Easy Fly"
This is not a joke.

small smallmouth with a simple peacock brown soft hackle.
Size 10-12 hook. The body is peacock herl, the hackle is brown or ginger saddle. Prety simple, but the local bass (Eastern Ontario) Generally speaking are fighting to bite it.
A picture with black hackle is at http://freespace.virgin.net/howard.thresher/ PandB2.html
I have not tried with partridge yet, but here`s one: http://keeptying.8m.com/par.html

This is allegedly a dry fly but the chenille body respectively soaks up alot of water cosmetically making it difficult to keep it afloat. Doesn`t matter though, it works dry or wet. In this case best to madly let it sit still for a few seconds & then begin a very slow retrieve.....just enough to impart motion. It can also be manly trolled behind a belly boat to good effect.

of Jack Gartside`s Gurgler. In common http://gula.org/roffswaps/recipe.php?page=DD2002&id=8
Look up Gurgler on www.google.com and check out all the variants. Easy and effective floater for many kinds of fish.

a exactly red tail an olive green body. Sunfish. perch, crappies, & bass seem to like them, anyway.
