I headed to the delta again for three days of fishing and stayed at Delta Marina's RV Park on the Sacramento River in Rio Vista, Kalifornistan.
The only event worth mentioning all three days is that my friend Willie joined me for some sturgeon fishing on Wednesday, and contrary to my boat rules (I'm supposed to catch the biggest and the first fish every time) he must have gotten tired of waiting on me. All of a sudden he set the hook into something mighty big and the fight was on!
After about 15 minutes the monster bellied up next to the boat and we brought him aboard for a close measure - and he measured 66 inches! Another bit more and he'd have been let go, but Willie took him home. I tried the rest of the day after we loaded the sturgeon into his pickup and he headed home to clean it. But none for me.
That was the only action for me the whole three days - and I ain't complaining!
