I have a Northfield Jr rod and reel combo. The reel is a round ball built into the handle. On the reel it has Clay Mfg Co, Northfield Minn. Pat. 2299156. Would this be a earlier version of the Whirlaway built by Great Lakes Products and what is it worth?

I wouldn't know the value of your Rod,perhaps someone else might answer & help out,also keep a lookout on the Vintage Section of eBay where they might come up.
