I don't recall a Langley rod but did own a langley reeel with a large cork arbor in 1952 -I blieve most rods then were either solid glass or tubular steel.

Hi Guest !
The Langley Corporation of San Diego California began making reels after WWII. There reels were light weight and featured perforated "Anti-Inertia" spools. There madels included the Cast-Rite model 380A,Deluxe Lakecast Speedy reel madel 510,Streemlite, Lurecast and Whitecap model 410. Langley made reels well into the sixties These reels sold new in the mid fifties priced from $ 6.00 to $ 15.00. I have no record of Langley making Rods. A good rod match for the era of this reel, in my oppinion would be a 5 to 5 1/2 foot True Temper tubular steel rod.

GOOD LUCK and GOOD FISHN !

Flyguy is right on as far as the time table here.True Temper is a great option. Bristol Rod and Reel Co also made similar rods one version is called a Gentlemans Rod they ran from 5 foot to as large as 8 foot these would also be a nice match.

Enjoy it Philip Anctil
