Hi.
The best way is to clean your Fishing Gear after each use, however none of us do,however if you fish in Salt or Brackish Water ,rinse your Reel under Fresh Water after every days Fishing to prevent corrosion.
It's a good idea to strip your Reel, especially if it's gone for a swim, fell in the sand & every couple of months & re - lubricate it,check for wear,
corrosion, even though it may be OK,never put them away or store them wet or in a damp place, use the correct screwdriver to prevent damage to to heads of the screws,& don't overtighten & strip the threads, also it doesn't hurt to wipe your Rod down.
