Does anyone know where I can find some online tips / faqs on using Eagle fish finders? I have an Eagle Ultra Classic, and I have some questions about using the unit in manual mode. I dont understand the concept of surface clutter, the first 4 -5 feet of the display shows clutter or thick greyline, but I'm only in 10 -15 ft of water ?? There could be something 5 feet below the boat and I would not see it because of the clutter or greyline.

Any help would be appreciated,
I hate quotations. Tell me what you know.

You have purchased a very fine machine with ASP (Advanced Signal Processing) that works very well. My advice is to use it in factory reset Auto mode. When you are more experienced and comfortable with the unit, only then you might want to do some fine tuning yourself. Go to http://www.eaglegps.com/egps/sonar/asp.htm for a brief discription of ASP.
