Try using a 4 to 6 weight fly rod with a sinking line and fast sink leader and try a variety of wet flies... Muddler Minnow, Mickey Finn, Nymph, epoxy minnows. You will have success.

The main problem when this happens is if your spool is overloaded ,the line just flies off the spool,you can also experiment with your drag settings as not everyone always have the same settings....
