I'm a very poor and passionate fisherman and would like any good advice about how to catch bass from shore. Especially if you're familiar with the Lake Oroville area.

We are very close to Oroville Lake and have fished there many times. We have a Bass Boat but for those that don`t here is a great way to catch Bass from the bank. There is three really good ways to start. 1st is using any top water bait like Buzzbait, Popper Chugger, Floating Minnow (Sammy by Lucky craft)or the Floating Fly. The Floating Fly is the easiest to use, just get yourself a Clear Float tie this on your line add a 3 to 5 foot leader with a Fly on end. When you cast this out you can watch the fly as it sinks. The bass will just hammer this Fly on the fall. Good Luck, Keep A Tight Line. Dale

use small blue gill for bait. just hook them through the back then cast out near some weeds and brush just try not to get stuck. they also make good bait for catfish.

For a beginner I would say super shallow crankbaits. Look for ones that say they dive 1 to 3 feet or ones with small square bills, if the water you fish is a little deeper then get a crank that gose a bit deeper.
Oh and you could try a senko.
