I bought an old Shakespear automatic reel from an atique shop last weekend. How do you load an automatic fly reel?

HiKutter.
Welcome,I haven't had an Automatic Fly Reel for years, they were popular in the late 60s -70s & for people with Arthritis.
The easiest way would be to disasemble the Reel,wind the backing & Line on,making sure you spool it in the right direction,a little trial & error.
