Hi
I was wondering if all shallow crankbaits are designed for heavy cover, and if not - which ones aren't?

Hi Keith, Welcome.
Different depth Lures are designed to be fished at different depths,as fish live, feed around cover, snags at all depths.
Shallow,Mid Depth,Deep Running all have their applications,as all will catch,at times the same species, depending on,water depth,
temperatures, where the fish are holding etc.
A typical example is when trolling for Trout
using a downrigger, the Lure more than likely will have to be lowered as the day warms,as the fish go deeper.
It's different bank fishing as the Bib design,Lure weight, governs the fishing depth.
