BOBBER’S AND BBs.
Big 5 sporting goods sell three sizes of clear plastic bobbber’s. The 1 1/4" has room to move the tube and drop in BBs from a child’s BB gun. Copper or stainless steel balls. Drop in twenty-twenty-five copper or stainless steel BBs and glue shut with Shoe Goo also available at Big 5. (silicone fast dry clear glue) Use tooth picks on both ends to keep glue from inside the line tube. Let dry. Drill with a Dremel tool and use with a black Sharpy Pen marking 8-10 smaller than the BBs, holes. So it sinks to the bottom. Add a swivel and 6 Lb. test. Add a 2 lb. test 24 inch leader to the other side of the swivel. With a #18 gold treble hook. Add Salmon colored and/or Marsh mellow Power Bait on the hook. Throw that sucker out there and let it sink. It still has buoyancy. And, moves with the current 25 feet deep. The trout are in deeper water because it is colder.
Happy trout fishing!
Use a paper shotgun shell with 1-2 oz. of lead inside for Calico Bass fishing in Kelp Beds. Wrap the 12 lb. test line around a sugar cube three times and shove the sugar cube inside the shell sling that sucker with a live anchovy. The sugar cube melts and you are fly lining fifty feet from the boat.
Happy Calico Bass fishing.
